Account and data deletion
Before you start: export a copy (optional)
Deleting can’t be undone, and we can’t recover your book for you because we never had a copy. If you might want it later, export your book from the app first and save the export somewhere outside EveryDayBook, such as another folder in Files or a computer.
1. Delete the book from iCloud
This removes your book, and the documents and photos you added, from your iCloud account.
- On your iPhone, open Settings and tap your name (your Apple Account).
- Tap iCloud, then Manage Storage (on some iOS versions it’s Manage Account Storage, or Storage → Manage Storage).
- Tap EveryDayBook, then Delete Data from iCloud (or Delete Documents & Data) and confirm.
If you still see an EveryDayBook folder in iCloud Drive in the Files app afterwards, delete it there too, then remove it from Recently Deleted (otherwise iCloud removes it after 30 days).
2. Delete the app from your iPhone
Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone, including Health readings, which are only ever kept on the device.
- Touch and hold the EveryDayBook icon on the Home Screen.
- Tap Remove App → Delete App and confirm.
If you’ve installed EveryDayBook on more than one iPhone, delete it from each one. You can do step 1 before or after this step.
Coming: “Erase this book” in the app
We plan to add an Erase this book option inside EveryDayBook, so you can wipe your book from your iPhone and iCloud in one place. Until it’s available, the steps above remove everything.
Other things you may want to tidy up
- Calendar events you created from EveryDayBook live in your own calendars. Delete them in the Calendar app if you no longer want them.
- Apple Health: EveryDayBook only reads from Apple Health and never writes to it, so there’s nothing to delete there. You can revoke its access in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, or in the Health app by tapping your profile picture, then Apps.
- Subscriptions: deleting the app or your data doesn’t cancel EveryDayBook Plus. Cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- iPhone backups: if you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, older backups may still contain the app’s data until those backups are replaced or deleted.
- Exports and shared copies: anything you exported, saved or shared outside the app has to be deleted wherever you put it.
Data we hold about you
The only personal information we might hold is email you’ve sent us (including problem reports). To have it deleted, email hello@everydaybook.app from the same address with the subject “Delete my data”. We’ll delete your messages and our replies from our mailbox, and confirm within 30 days, except for anything the law requires us to keep.
